Step-By-Step Instructions For Installing Vinyl WPC Flooring

Jun. 03, 2021

As a WPC Flooring Manufacturer, share with you. Check the boards before installation to ensure appearance: The factory maintains strict quality control, but the installer is still responsible for ensuring that all boards are acceptable and ready for installation. Do not install the WPC floor in a place where the temperature is higher than 110° F (43°C).

Adjust the WPC floor before installation: You must place the WPC horizontally in the room to be installed 48 hours before installation. The room temperature and humidity of the installation area should be consistent with the normal perennial living conditions at least one week before the installation of the floor. It is recommended to maintain an optimal room temperature of 70° F/21 C and a humidity range of 35-60%.

The surface of the subfloor must be smooth, flat, dry, clean and strong. Carpet staples or adhesive residue must be removed to ensure proper installation. Over a span of 4 feet, the subfloor should be level and the tolerance should be within 1/8" (3 mm). Any unevenness over 1/8 inch must be sanded or filled with floor leveling agent. The voids in the subfloor or The bulge will prevent the WPC from locking properly.

The subfloor must be carefully checked for moisture problems. WPC is waterproof, but not a waterproofing agent; any moisture problems need to be resolved before installation. The new concrete floor needs to be cured for at least 60 days.

Useful notice: If WPC is laid on existing tiles, it is necessary to degrease the grout line with a floor leveling agent. If you install the WPC on an existing floor with embossing or grout lines, if the embossing or grout lines are larger than 1/8 inch, you must use a floor leveling agent to degrease.

The installation should start from the corner and from the wall, with the tongue facing away from the wall. Leave a minimum clearance of 1/8 inch for subfloor movement or product expansion, which should be covered by accessories. Make sure to add T-shaped molding to any room larger than 25 feet.

When aligning the first row in a straight line, insert the tongue into the groove at an angle of about 15º – 20º, and then fold the boards so that the short end of one board matches the top of the next board, so that the long ends are mutually. lock. Continue to install in order.

Make sure the seams between the boards are tight. When the boards are locked together to form a tight seam, you will feel and hear a click. There should be no visible gaps between the boards. Use a striking block and a hammer to ensure that the tongue and groove are properly engaged together. If your seams don't look tight, you should immediately pull the boards apart and reinstall them. Slowly lift the top plate away from the bottom plate, then simply reinstall it and repeat step 2.

When installing WPC, it is strongly recommended to stagger the lines so that the short side seams are not in a straight line. We recommend staggered rows.

Start the second row proportionally with wooden boards. Measure and mark the plank, and then use a ruler and utility knife to scratch and break the plank.

Place the board tightly on the first row again at an angle of 15º – 20º and fold it down so that the short end of one board can be attached to the next board.

Cut the plank to the right length and start the third row. If the layout of the room allows, the remaining part can be reused at the other end of the row.

Continue this mode for the remaining lines to be installed. Always keep the cut end of the first board against the wall.

Fitting around irregular objects is not a problem. Just use thick paper to make a pattern to fit pipes or irregular objects. Place the pattern on the board and track it. Use a utility knife or heavy scissors to cut along the trace line, and then lay the plank. Make sure to leave at least ¼” of expansion space around all fixed objects, floor vents and door frames.

Notes:

The concrete floor must be fully cured and dry. For all installations, climate control must be carried out on site.

The maximum running length is 7.6M (25'). For the excess area, a transition zone must be used.
